With this done, you have a decision to make. After this, you must then install the SQL Server add-on for Splunk. If you’re running on Windows, you install the Splunk software through an Active Directory service, which must have access to all the various logs you want to feed it. The first step, of course, is to install the Splunk application. You build visual dashboards from the results so that you can spot trends, correlations between different metrics, anomalous behavior, and start to understand the major causes of performance problems, downtime, and other system issues. You can run and save searches against all the data it collects, examining a combination of significant ‘events’ collected over the same timeframe, perhaps corelating SQL Server performance metrics and log data with detailed infrastructure data. You can then extend the monitoring to SQL Server, as well as other relational database and NoSQL data stores, using the appropriate apps and add-ons. So, for example, you might use Splunk to do your infrastructure monitoring, collecting metrics and log data for Windows servers (plus Linux, MacOS), as well as clusters, Docker containers and more. This ability to index your data such that it can be quickly and easily searched is one of Splunk’s strengths it is sometimes referred to as a search engine for machine data and it can help you understand the cause of faults, track availability, capacity and performance, manage configuration and security of your server elements, and so on. You can categorize events by type so you can start to work out when and how long your system spend processing certain categories of event, or what errors occur in relation to those events. An event might just be an error entry from a log file or the output from a performance metric, such as a perfmon counter. Each event has a timestamp, host, source, and source type. Raw data is parsed into “events” and stored in indexes, which are Splunk’s data repository, to make the raw data searchable and discoverable. Whatever data you need to collect, you’ll likely find an app or add-on that is preconfigured to collect it, or can configure it manually. Splunk data collectors gather the data from your data sources (logs, feeds, metrics, files and so on) across a range of different platforms, networks, servers, applications, databases and services. It also provides analytical and machine learning tools to help you understand how you need to respond, to improve the system. Splunk collects, parses, indexes and searches “big data”, or really any log data or machine data, including performance metrics, generated by the various parts of your infrastructure. However, Splunk offers a broad range of data collection and analysis tools so the intent of this brief section is to paint the SQL Server monitoring part into this bigger picture. This article tackles only Splunk’s SQL Server monitoring capabilities, what it covers and what, in my opinion, it misses. In this article I’ll explore how Splunk works to monitor SQL Server, explaining the metrics it gathers and making a case for why you will need to augment the capabilities of Splunk with SQL Monitor, a dedicated tool for SQL Server monitoring. Specifically, Splunk can be used to monitor SQL Server instances. One of the many capabilities of Splunk is real time monitoring of IT infrastructure. Splunk is a suite of data collection, search and analysis tools, built around the consumption and indexing of ‘machine data’, such as log data, in order to turn it into information.

KeePass can minimize itself and type the information of the currently selected entry into dialogs, webforms, etc. Auto-type and drag and drop Īn example of KeePass's auto-type function, which is triggered by a global hotkey As of May 2014, there are no plugins available to add provisioned multi-user support, but there exists a proprietary password server ( Pleasant Password Server) that is compatible with the KeePass client and includes provisioning. KeePass supports simultaneous access and simultaneous changes to a shared password file by multiple computers (often by using a shared network drive), however there is no provisioning of access per-group or per-entry. Also, the CSVs can be imported by spreadsheet applications like Microsoft Excel or OpenOffice/ LibreOffice Calc.įile format support can be expanded through the use of KeePass plugins. The CSV output is compatible with many other password safes like the commercial closed-source Password Keeper and the closed-source Password Agent. The XML output can be used in other applications and re-imported into KeePass using a plugin. kdbx file, but it can be exported to TXT, HTML, XML and CSV. The password list is saved by default as a. KeePass cannot prevent password theft and, as Dominik Reichl, the administrator of KeePass, states, "neither KeePass nor any other password manager can magically run securely in a spyware-infected, insecure environment." Overview Import and export In addition, several GitHub projects (KeeFarce, KeeThief, Lazanga) specifically attack a running KeePass to steal all data when the host is compromised. Ī 2019 Independent Security Evaluators study described KeePass as well as other widely used password managers as being unable to control Windows 10's tendency to leave passwords in cleartext in RAM after they are displayed using Windows controlled GUI. Ī 2017 Consumer Reports article described KeePass as one of the four most widely used password managers (alongside 1Password, Dashlane and LastPass), being "popular among tech enthusiasts" and offering the same level of security as non-free competitors. KeePass can import from over 30 other most commonly used password managers. It can use a two-channel auto-type obfuscation feature to offer additional protection against keyloggers. It has a password generator and synchronization function, supports two-factor authentication, and has a Secure Desktop mode. KeePass 1.x and 2.x support a number of plugins, although 2.x allows more plugins. Mainly communication features are extended in KeePass 2.x: authentication with the Windows user account, remote and shared database editing as well as many plugins allowing communication and authentication with different web browsers, databases and more. KeePass 2.x has a different software basis in C# instead of the former C++. Although the 1.x variant is the former variant it is supported indefinitely: Dominik Reichl: "2.x isn't the successor of 1.x, and 1.x isn't dead". KeePass comes in two different variants: KeePass 1.x and KeePass 2.x. By default, the KeePass database is stored on a local file system (as opposed to cloud storage). This file can be protected by any combination of a master password, a key file, and the current Windows account details. KeePass stores usernames, passwords, and other fields, including free-form notes and file attachments, in an encrypted file. Additionally, there are several unofficial ports for Windows Phone, Android, iOS, and BlackBerry devices, which normally work with the same copied or shared (remote) password database. It officially supports macOS and Linux operating systems through the use of Mono. KeePass Password Safe is a free and open-source password manager primarily for Windows. The formula for the calculation of Nifty 50 is given below. Nifty 50 is calculated through the free float market capitalization method. The company’s market capitalization should be 1.5 times the smallest company on the index. In the past six months, the trading frequency must be 100%.The impact cost should be less than or equal to 0.5% for a six-month period. It is the price at which the security trades in relation to the index’s weight. The liquidity is measured by impact cost. The company should be registered with the NSE.Following are the eligibility criteria for a stock to be included in the Nifty 50 index. The stocks in the index are rebalanced every six months based on the criteria. There is a set criterion for selecting stocks for Nifty 50. Hence shares with high market capitalization have high weightage in the index compared to stocks with low market capitalization. The stocks on the nifty 50 are selected based on free-float market capitalization, which is the current market value of all the actively trading shares. They are also the largest and most liquid companies in the index. The stocks in the index are from 14 different sectors. Its name is derived from the national stock exchange and fifty and has the top performing fifty stocks in the market based on their free float market capitalization. Nifty 50 is a popular stock market index of the National Stocks Exchange (NSE). Read to know more about nifty 50 and nifty next 50 indexes. One of the popular indices in the market is the Nifty 50. If the underlying stocks go up, the value of the index also increases and decreases when the value of underlying stocks goes down. Hence the value of the index depends on the value of underlying stocks. It consists of a set of stocks representing the whole market and tracks changes in these stocks. A stock market index measures the changes taking place in the market. At first glance, the creation of these intriguing designs can appear to be a complete mystery. Jeffrey Hsu / Image: Blizzard Entertainment via HGG After channeling ten times, you can permanently reinforce a location of your choice to keep that event available every day, granting you more chances at anima. Either location at this rank provides the same reward. Each day spends a small amount of anima to channel to a location and unlock an event that rewards you a good chunk of anima. Jeffrey Hsu / Image: Blizzard Entertainment via HGGĪfterward, get your Anima Conductor up and running. Just make sure the reward outweighs the cost! We recommend not progressing your Mission Table’s adventure progression beyond Level 48, as the difficulty ramps up exponentially while the rewards increase linearly. The trick is to over-level them in relation to the missions’ difficulty so you can complete the missions with a single companion and just enough generic troops to keep the anima cost low.Īdditionally, you can focus on missions that reward anima. You’ll want to get your Mission Table off the ground first and start leveling your companions. Rank 1: Mission Table -> Anima Conductor -> Transport Network -> Unique Feature However, due to the time it takes to accumulate enough of WoW’s anima currency to upgrade your sanctum, we’ll be going over what order you should upgrade. At max rank, you might even find yourself overflowing on anima! Sanctum Upgrade Orderĭue to the new anima boost system, we strongly recommend upgrading all features in your sanctum to the same rank instead of focusing solely on one feature. While the new system may not seem like a large boost, you’ll find the rewards begin to stack up rapidly, culminating in earning anima four times faster at the final tier. If you want extra anima on all your toons, you’re going to have to upgrade your sanctum to the same rank on those toons as well. However, these anima boosts are character-specific. Unfortunately, it does not apply to static rewards like your weekly dungeon quests or epic anima vessels (the ones worth 250 that you usually get for killing the world boss). The increased reward applies to rewards from world quests, Mythic+ dungeons, raid bosses, PvP, mission tables, rares, and treasure chests. Each following rank would increase your anima reward by an additional 35 anima. For example, a world quest that would normally award you one rare anima vessel (35 anima) would reward you with two (70 anima) just by unlocking the first achievement. Psychic FocusĮach of those psionic disciplines has a static bonus called a “psychic focus”. They’re also divided into categories similar to magic schools, which matter for bonus disciplines you can pick up from your order. These disciplines are going to be some of your main features and the source of a lot of your customization. Each discipline is a set of features, including a psychic focus which is a “static” bonus, and a slew of both low and high tier abilities you can activate by spending psi points. You pick out one discipline to start and get another one every two levels, and you’ll also get one or more bonus disciplines based on your mystic order. You regain all your spent psi points on a long rest. You get more points as you go up in level in honestly bizarre increments, starting with very few to tons of the things at later levels. This is the resource that you’ll be spending to use most of your abilities. We’ll go into them further but for now treat these as powered-up cantrips. You start with 1 and gain a few more as you level up. These are halfway between cantrips and invocations and they’ll likely be your primary source of damage in the early levels. With that established, let’s get into all the many things that start with “psi” that you get with psionics: Your powers will use a lot of spell terminology like duration or areas of effect, all that stuff works exactly the same.Your psionic abilities are Intelligence based for your “not-spell” attack bonuses and “not-spell” saving DCs.While you’ll do a lot of things that look and function like spellcasting, they’re not technically spells for things like counterspell or anti-magic fields. To start with, the class spends a lot of time explaining that your psionic abilities aren’t spells, but then proceeds to reiterate a ton of the parts of spellcasting as if they were spellcasting. I find that their structure and wording can be very confusing and difficult to parse with a half-dozen different parts each somehow starting with “psi”. PsionicsĪ TON of features get wrapped up in this core feature you gain at 1st level. This makes you a bit less squishy than a wizard and most pure casters, but you’ll need some work to do anything on the front line. To start with the mystic has a d8 hit die, and proficiency with light armor and simple weapons. Here we’ll go into each unique feature gained by the mystic and how best to utilize them. To take your adventure of the mind you’ll first need to understand the fundamentals of the class and how its features function. This means that most DMs will take a heck of a lot of convincing to allow them. It’s important though to reiterate though that mystics have only been published in unearthed arcana, which is meant as a testing ground, and it seems that WotC has largely abandoned them to the cutting room floor. They can function as magic (ok psychic) damage dealers, party buffers, or with a bit of work can even be tanks and frontline fighters. Mechanically they are hard to fully describe as they are very customizable but tend to play almost like a mixture of sorcerer and warlock, with numerous selectable features and a pool of points that power your better abilities. They constitute their own unique class of adventurers, unraveling mysteries through telepathy, smashing foes through telekinesis, and solving problems through old fashioned wit. They form secretive orders or isolate themselves as hermits, travelling an inner journey of the mind. Psychics, wisemen, mentalists, mystics are masters of mental disciplines that distort and control reality through sheer force of intellect and will. So, center yourself and clear your mind as we go through everything you need to know. Still, they exist now in 5e as an unearthed arcana, and if your DM is game you’ve still got the opportunity to adventure using the power of your mind as the enigmatic mystic. Since that bad impression countless failed attempts to bring psionics into the game have been made, and mystics well… didn’t end up working out either. The end result was like trying to add a new engine part to a car by firing it out of a cannon at the engine block. Psychic powers were a cool idea but they were built as a sort of separate thing that got dropped into an existing finely tuned machine. Ever since their early introductions to the game, psionics have been something of a dirty word in D&D. |
